Famesick: A Memoir

Lena is both exactly who you think she is, and so much more whether you like it or not.

The disability, chronic illness, perfectionist, workaholic content was incredibly well written. As a memoir, it represents the group of disabled people who appear to have low support needs, and what it means to have an invisible disability. It won’t be everyone’s experience but I couldn’t deny the relatability I felt in reading Lena’s personal experience of medical trauma.

I guess I just want to share this take: I don’t defend her actions but I do believe her remorse, which leaves me with questions for her more adamant haters. What would you actually want from her to accept her presence in some form of community (perhaps not your community!) Is there possibility for justice that doesn’t involve harm to her in response to the harm she’s caused?
