I didn’t realize 50% would be about the holy and 50% about the shit but alas! The title is very accurate. History, philosophy, linguistics and the entomology of ‘swearing’, whether that’s as a holy form or a crude / deviant form.

Pretty heavy content, probably good for college / university level reading, put me to sleep a few times so … it’s dense. But so is the paradox of purity culture & shame, so it’s not the authors fault.
